A group gathered at the lake of Nicaragua to rejoice with Israel when he obeyed the gospel. It was a special moment for us when Israel became a part of the spiritual Israel of God. Pray for this new convert to stay strong in the Lord. 

At San Jose the brethren study intently the truths presented this day. This congregation was almost an hours drive into the mountains of Nicaragua. We were thankful to meet these brethren, since we had not had this opportunity on our previous trip.

Domingo is once again our good translator for the duration of the trip. He rejoices that he can serve us in this way. He finds great encouragement from being able to visit with all of the saints in Nicaragua on an evangelistic journey like this one.

At Ocho de Marzo I teach a Bible class that was designed to encourage them to greater diligence in their service to God. They were thankful for the fact that we visited them again on our trip. This is the local church where Domingo labors in the gospel.

Ken Parrish addresses the congregation to help prepare their minds for the Lord's Supper. Ken makes a trip to Nicaragua (on average) about once every other month. He is a good brother whose heart is set on reaching the people of Nicaragua with the word of God. He has done a great deal of work in this country in that last 3 years.

On several occasions we walk some distance to hold house to house Bible studies. Here we are passing through an orchard to talk with a lady that was doing some wood gathering. She accepted our invitation to study and was very receptive to the message.

One of the house studies that we had was with Israel who had been delaying his obedience to the gospel. We studied about the urgency of salvation and he responded to the Lord being baptized. We gathered at the Lake of Nicaragua with a host of others from San Marcos and we rejoiced in his good decision.

In San Marcos those assembled give attention to the word of God. Many of them were using the new Bibles we had given them. They are so excited when they receive a Bible and their zeal for study is inspiring.

The Lake of Nicaragua was beautiful and refreshing since it was over 100 degrees every day. We had the chance to visit here during a Sunday afternoon and it was truly a wonderful place.

Going back to visit the church in the mountains at Los Fierros is always a pleasure, not only for the encouragement from assembling with them, but also for the fantastic views in the mountains. If you look closely, you will see the road on the mountain ridge that we had to travel ahead.

If you remember from the last trip that I made, the church here had no place to sit and we provided them with 25 chairs. I finally had the privilege of meeting with them while the chairs were in place. This is a blessing to them for their times of assembling. The congregation here had grown and it was good to see that Florencio was continuing to work hard in the spreading of the gospel.

While on our way to Diriamba these girls were playing and I thought they were a good example of the innocent children that Jesus would have called to Himself on His journeys in teaching and preaching.

We have an outdoor service in Diriamba as I speak about the example of Hezekiah in restoring the truth of God's will. Many saints were encouraged and thanked us for our time spent with them. We were able to provide this congregation with enough funds to build a temporary shelter where I am standing in the picture above.

On this trip we were able to get 200 Bibles for the saints and those in the community. Everyone that received a Bible was very thankful and appreciative.

In Sebaco, this family wanted us to take their picture. I felt that it is good to share this because you can see the wonderful people that make up these churches.

Matagalpa is a city with almost a half a million people. There is a lot of work that needs to be done in this one city. The church that has been established is working to reach this large community.

The meeting place in Matagalpa is only sufficient to hold about 25 people. With this in mind, you can see how they are in need of aid for providing them with a larger facility. Sharon sits near the door as this auditorium was full for our meeting on this afternoon.

Domingo assists me with a translation of the message for these saints. These Christians were very friendly and expressed their gratitude for our efforts there.

After the service in Matagalpa the members want to gather for a group photo. We willingly accepted and treasure the memory of being with them.

Of all of the meeting places, this one was the most unique in that it consisted of 6 equally spaced trees, some support branches and then the leaves from a large palm tree. This goes to show that we don't have to worship in an elaborate building to worship God in spirit and in truth. This is a new work in a territory that needs the gospel.

I was told that many visitors would attend this day, so I focused the message on points of salvation. While no responses were initially made on this day, I was informed that several of the people were closer to obedience to the Lord.

Ken spoke to these saints and gave them much encouragement with the passages and other thoughts that he shared with them.

The church that meets here took the time to gather for a group photo and once again we will not forget their labor in this new work for the Lord.

Ken preached about wanting to see Jesus at Campo Bruce after a lesson that I presented about what it means to be "in Christ". One lady wanted to obey the gospel and two others were restored to faithful service.

At Campo Bruce one of the sisters is seen reading her new Bible. So many people are blessed by these Bibles and they only cost $4 US each. What a good work it is to send these Bibles to these good people.

Many of the flowers were in full bloom and it was a beautiful accent to every step of our trip.

Everywhere you go you will find individuals who are selling something. Here two ladies have some baked goods and other snacks. We bought some kind of nuts from them and they were excellent.

Since most of Nicaragua holds to a Catholic faith, many of the cultural markers also demonstrate that belief. Here is a picture of the virgin Mary and the child Jesus. Notice that both of them are wearing crowns. We need to reach those who hold religious error in this land.

Many other statues honor former leaders or those who have made a significant impact on the Nicaraguan culture.

On my first trip we rode buses, taxis, and other means of transportation, which can be very dangerous (thieves, gang fights etc). On this trip Domingo had a car that served as our transportation. We were thankful for this blessing, since it was much more safe.

While traveling home from the North we were able to catch this sunset and it was a reminder of God's continued faithfulness each day through His sustaining of the universe.

As I mentioned before...the children are always a highlight to the trip as they are so humble and innocent. They want to know so much about you and your family, your home land, your likes and dislikes etc.  They are truly going to be the future of the church in this land. We must pay attention to their needs.
